>.< Damn you Asian cultural belief. I want a white headpiece/ headband but tradition says that wearing white on your head is honouring the dead. What is wrong with that? Honouring the dead is a good thing. It's showing respect. Any opinions on this?

Stuff this. (Ignores that and goes ahead to buy a white wig) Enough ranting////

Discuss also:

Any clothing items that are white
What meaning does the colour white have, if you are wearing it?
What are your favourite clothing items that are white?

OMG my thoughts exactly! what the hell is going on with that????? what about the people at weddings? how about my new aunt?? she was in such a beautiful white dress! although her tiara was diamondy and sparkly...

meh apparently a striped black and white headband is fine >.> i bought one and mum said it was okish...

i'm quite fond of the colour white these days, it's better than wearing black, white lights up the place!

@Anna (kaifanatic): I know! Barely anyone wants to wear the red for their wedding these days..<.<
I have a black and white spotted headband/tie/belt thingy but my head hates headbands.
Nya white is ok, but I don't like it overdone. Still prefer black because it makes me look slimmer!

hahaha the asian belief
seriously.. go for it and wear white
i think - if it looks good.. you're doing good.. cos then if they do think you're honouring for the dead.. at least you're looking good to honour them.. shabam
hahaha

red dress for the bride isnt common
however red dress to attend the wedding is VERY common

well what i think is the shades suit well with every color just depends how you're wearing it
and boss you're right; black makes you slimming indeed

id wear white more but the only problem is .. white tees tend to be see through.. and hrmm .. im not up for that =\

i havnt seen white in pants much though besides tailored
ive seen white jeans before but they're very uncommon i think o.o
what do you think?

^.^ I'll just wear a white headband when my parents aren't looking!
Yes! I saw a few ladies in one of my family friends' wedding in China wearing red dresses!

*sticks with black clothes* Though I will wear white occasionally especially when it is summer.

White pants? They kinda creep me out. I wouldn't wear it and they would get easily dirty. It would be a no no if you wear that to a restaurant and someone spills stuff over it. 0.0
Depends on the person. ( Light colours draw attention to specific areas).

black and white being together o.o..
hrmm i dont really know anything wrong with that.. but i guess each person has different beliefs.. just like some says ying yang are bad etc =="
but yeah.. i guess it was a excuse to say they didnt like it since gothic lolita styles are quite surprising since they probably have a weird impression of it..
but yeah.. i do know some people who has parents who have problems with gothic + lolita so yeah..

Wow, I haven't heard of that one. I guess, to Asian culture the colour white is their symbol of death and in Western culture is black so when combined together, = bad bad...

(kinda unrelated) Though when I was shopping with my mum, and I found a cheap corset (G-lol), she told me that it looks like it came from Pretty Woman (*stare* with all the prostitutes...)
I will eventually get a lolita dress. One day.
