| What are your plans? Are you trying to lose extra kilos so you can go to the beach? Whatever your reasons, talk about it here.
-Own advice or expert? -Diet or no -Fad -Your ideal diet that is guaranteed to work? -Exercise regime -Goal for summer
For me, I have stopped snacking so when I get my annual blood test, I want to see the level of cholesterol go down (but I think it being high is hereditary)... Read in a newspaper that there is an on and off diet which allows you for one day, to eat a minimal amount, and the next day, eat as much as you like. Said it stimulates your gene to burn fat.

| Ya i am planning on losing a few kgs as well, though i don't know how far i'll get. I usually try ever year but end up giving up on it a week or so later . I'm just going to try and cut down on junk food (not completely since i always try to do that and never works) and exercise more and go for daily run. Speaking of blood tests i haven’t had 1 in a long time. I should probably get that checked >_>. - ~Suigintou~ wrote:

Wonder if this works, i wouldn't mind trying it out if it really does.

| dieting for summer because it's the holidays where i SHOULD be active and stay fit.. but most likely i'll be lazing around >_>" but yes! eat healthy.. at least 3 meals a day.. should no eat after 8pm as your food does not have enough time to burn after that.. sleep well.. but besides eating, you must do exercises.. jogging, walking, running, power walking is an excellent form of exercise which burns fat.. sit ups while at home is great for burning fat on stomach and toning your stomach.. NEVER OVERDO IT... if your body says thats enough.. ITS ENOUGH.. even if its only like 2 sit ups.. increase steadily as your body will get use to it.. learn to use other facilities and do other exercises properly such as doing weights properly to burn fat, not increase muscles (eg. Arms) and drink plenty of water/fluids to replenish yourself =)
Also, it is 'apparently' true that you do burn calories/fat(whatever) easily and more quicker while in the summer(hot) so yeah =)
oh.. also to add.. don't try those crappy dieting crap like lemon detox or those diet pills.. they just ruin your metabolism.. seriously.. and the thing is.. you have to have em constantly.. (seriously people, drinking 1L of saltwater every morning for lemon detox diet.. its insane)
'Read in a newspaper that there is an on and off diet which allows you for one day, to eat a minimal amount, and the next day, eat as much as you like. Said it stimulates your gene to burn fat.' that.. minimal on one day meaning you're just slowing your metabolism causing your body to produce more stomach acid and since your metabolism is slowing.. and you eat more the next day.. it'll take a while to digest.. more time for fat to store
(i'm just saying all this based on fitness trainers etc)
be how you are usually.. and be balanced =)
.. man i say all this but i never do it >_>"

| @Danny: Lol! I know what you mean. Especially for me, since I am studying nursing, but look (*sees nurses standing outside hospitals smoking*) I barely exercise. I should start sit-ups again but don't they tighten the stomach/abdo muscles? Eat in moderation, got it. I'm not skipping any meals, I just try to limit my intake and not eat too full. | |

| well according to a friend i met online (alert alert!) she's studying nutrition at the moment and what she learnt was that if you want to lose weight then input<output. she also said something about food but i forget ^^; and also chewing raw celery ("without the dips!" she says) burns more energy than the energy you get from the celery itself. for output i go for sit ups or yoga, and maybe swimming if my mum threatens me harharhar | |

| lol kaifanatic you should know about input<output from chem you want your body to be exothermic not endothermic! i could never go on a diet. if i want to lose weight, i couldnt sacrifice the tasty tasty food i love. instead i would just hit the treadxercise bike daily for like half an hour lol. | |

| @Taicho: Animals are separated by endotherms (own body heat) and ectotherms (reptiles, insects, etc that rely on the surrounding temperature to survive)... Exothermic chemical reactions release energy, where endothermic reactions require energy.... OMGOSH SO CONFUSED NOW =="
lol so we endotherms need to be more exothermic in order to lose weight. If we wanna be all scientific-y haha

| I should be...argh...but with Christmas coming up...mmm...Christmas food...SO HARD!
But my dad got me some jeans when he went to Germany and they don't fit me and if they don't fit me by Christmas I'm going to lose them!
Maybe I should cut back...
Oh gawd...but no plans.
I should go out more...but it's too hot and I can't stand hot weather.

| @dragonfly: Thanks for the explanation. I always get the energy part confused~ Hahaha, I hope there is a technology that could help us!
@Jazz: You must resist temptation! You have to set a goal! Which should be fitting into those nice pair of jeans. Now go ahead and find a plan that suits you!

| @~Suigintou~ - I'm drinking more water. Does that count? But it's summer and it's too hot to go outside...besides, my work involves walking and I have extra shifts... | |
