G'day all

I am a first time writer, long time reader lol (just using a cliche from comic book mail pages of old!)

A few of you met me today at the EA building, I was the bloke with glasses in the "Ask Me" t-shirt (Oreintation guide).

I am a 2nd year grad law student (arts grad) and enjoy long walks on the beach... lol

No, seriously, I haven't watched an anime in I don't know how long! I am probably a bit older than the average member of this club and the last animes I was into were ones like Akira, Ninja Scroll, Ghost in The Shell, Battleangel Alita, Patlabor, Robotech, Project A-Ko, so that sort of mid 90s vintage lol When I mentioned it to the group today someone said they were "classics" which made me feel old LOL but just for a second ;-)

Heck, the last animes I owned were on VHS!

I joined up because I would like to reaquint myself with 21st century anime or anything post 1998 lol

The one anime I am a big fan of is Robotech, the ultimate space soap opera! Nasty, loving, funny but quite serious. It is an epic not rivalled as far as I know! (please correct me if I am missing out on something here!) I also really liked Venus Wars, that was a cool movie.

I enjoy animation of all sorts and have many Looney Tunes dvds and Samurai Jack, if you guys know that one! If not, you guys may like it.

The closest thing I got to anime on dvd right now is the complete box set of Monkey Magic. But that kinda doesnt count does it...?

Anyways, enough about me, I hope to see many, many fine animes this year and meet you all
