| You can now take the placement test! Both parts of the test must be taken.
PART 1: http://parranoia.wufoo.com/forms/class-placement-test-part-1/ PART 2: http://parranoia.wufoo.com/forms/class-placement-test-part-2/Simple explanation:- Spoiler:
You'll be allocated into a class where you'll battle it out against another class using ESB points. ESB points will be calculated by using your recent assessment mark, weighting of that assessment and your current forum ESB points. If your class can beat other classes (Class E defeats Class D), your class will be promoted while your opponents will be demoted (Class E becomes Class D while Class D becomes Class E) Prizes may be awarded to the top performing class.
To encourage lazy people like me to study, I have thought of a semester-long game that takes a lot of inspiration from Baka to Test's Electronic Summoning Battle (ESB) system. It requires every participant to be honest and truthful regarding their real-life assessment marks in order to make this game as rewarding as possible. Everyone that's joining the ESB challenge will be randomly allocated into a class ( Class A, B, C, D, E etc). The classes will battle against each other through a modified version of the ESB, and your most important stat will be your recent assessment marks! An example of how the ESB system will work:- Spoiler:
Class F VS Class A
haru (class F) ESB points: 500 VS FMV (class A) ESB points: 700 <--- WINNER
Lann (class F) ESB points: 1500 <--- WINNER VS Tabz (class A) ESB points: 100
Class F: 1 Class A: 1
Since both classes have won a battle each, this round will result in a draw. However, if class F were to defeat class A, the members from class F would be promoted to class A and vice versa for class A. I guess whoever ends up in class F at the end of the semester will have to play a punishment game? Will figure this part out later!
How your ESB points are calculated: base score + forum ESB points- Spoiler:
BASE POINTS: We will use your recent marks from an assessment in percentage form to determine your base score. The base score will then be multiplied by 1000, and the percentage of your assessment weighting will provide a bonus to your total (eg. if the weighting of your exam was 30%, the weighted bonus would equal 30% x 700 = 210). For example: 70% in mid-sem exam x 1000 = 700 ESB points + 30% weighting bonus = 700 + 210 = 910
FORUM BONUS: The ESB points under your username will also contribute to your total. A random number (percentage) between 1% to 20% will be generated before the commencement of the battle, and that number will be used to multiply the ESB points under your username. For example: 15% x 1500 = 225 ESB points.
Therefore, in this example your total ESB points would amount to: 910 (from assessment marks) + 225 (from forum ESB) = 1135 ESB points.
So remember, the only things that you'll need to provide is your assessment mark and your assessment weighting! And on that note, you can only submit assessment marks that has a weighting of 10% or more.
Creating your character/summon:http://www.tektek.org/dream/dream_canvas.php?[/center] What to do & how to play:- Before the commencement of each battle, you are required to post/pm your recent mark from an assessment task (must have a weighted average of 10% and above) and the weighting of that assessment so your ESB points can be calculated.
- Match-ups between classes will then be randomly made on a specific date; results will be posted on the same day.
- Classes can also declare a match with another class if they wish, but it comes at a price of 500 forum ESB points.
Important note: each class must nominate their class president. Your class president will then assign each member of their class a numerical rank. For example, if there are 5 members in your class, you'd rank someone as 1, then someone else as 2, and the final person as 5 etc. This is important because whoever is no.1 will be versing the other team's no.1. Your ranks will be kept confidential so your opponents won't know your lineup! Rules and other info will be added soon!

| Can you please explain clearer about random number 1%-20%? what is that number evaluated based on? And how to make it fair for new members when senior (third year) members have such a huge amount of ESB points like 1585 (haru) | |

| I will use a random number generator for that (mostly luck-based). And to make it fair, each class will have an equal number of members who have high and low ESB points. | |

| Seems overly complex, and Shouldn't you only be able to challenge the class one up from yourself, else everyone will just challange class A and since A is getting challenged the most they should get points every attack they survive.
Also both teams should pick an attack eg. Ultimate Neko Beam vs Summon Fire-breathing cockroach and then somone *cough* michelle *cough* draws out the fight in a couple of panels =D | |

| It would take too long to do panels for each attack. | |

| Dunno, I made it as simplistic as I could. All you have to do is provide me one of your recent assessment marks and the weightings of it and you get your total ESB points. Once that's done your class will battle it out with another class (randomly decided or whatever). Seems pretty simple.

| Also the calculations you use are confusing no idea what you mean, my method is you have a % out of possible 100%,
eg. if I get 4% out of a possible 10% exam then I have earned (4/10) = 40% out of a possible 100%
my next exam i get 6% out of possible 10, so 4/10 (past exam) + 6/10 (new exam) = 10/20 = 50% out of 100%
and I just battle with my 50%
This way means theres no unfair advantage if you have all your test early, vs someone who has only 1 assessment at the end of the year worth 20 and a final exam worth 80 (like me)

| haha, our methods are the same except I also take into account the weighting and your forum ESB points (the higher weighting of an assessment, the more bonus points you will get). If you're confused by why I'm multiplying it by 1000, it's simply to make the points seem bigger.
So I will use your figures to explain my method: Base: 4/10 = 40% x 1000 = 400 ESB points Since your assessment has a 10% weighting, it will gain a bonus (10% of 400 = 40) Total ESB = 400 (base) + 40 (weighted bonus) = 440
Since we also have ESB points on the forum, that will also be taken into account. How the forum ESB points will be added to your total: forum ESB x random percentage from 1% to 20% (using a random number generator)

| Maybe, but I'm going on the assumption that assessments that have more weighting will be much more difficult than 10% ones. (may not be true) So that will give the people having tough assessments a bit more points! =] | |
