^I recently switched to a similar plan at the same price but with 30gb of extra quota, and despite the upgrade I'M STILL CAPPED early in the month! Although one good thing is that my capped speed is actually 256k, which is the bare minimum speed for ADSL lol.

^I'm still with Optus, but I managed to change from the old $99 fusion plan to new one at the same price. On my old plan, I only had 20gb, unlimited national calls and speed was shaped to 64k when capped. As for the new plan, my data allowance has increased to 50gb and capped speed is definitely faster.

I know! But since my parents wanted unlimited national calls and didn't feel like switching to other ISPs, I had no other choice. My previous plan was actually the biggest fusion plan back then lol, even though it was only 20gb...

my parents used they're mobile phones to call internationally... as well
so my phone is only used a a fax machine

How about try introduce them to either webcam chat or skype? Wait maybe that's a bad idea... They might stay on for quite a long time, i know my grandma does that =S

with that you can tell them the benefits of not only hearing their voice BUT you SEE THEIR FACES TOO!!!!!!!!!!! And you can have your massive quota hahaha

Thing about Skype is that I'd have to persuade my relatives from interstate to use it as well, and considering they don't use their computers much, I don't think it's going to be that simple!

^ Lol, for international calls, go back to the old fashioned way and buy phone cards? >.< someone calculate the rate....but it seems much cheaper than using mobile phone plans...
skype is not a bad way either- only works if they have a good computer and webcam and microphone headset too....
urgh I remember being in optus..hated it how our internet always got capped so early when we didn't even download much. <.< We only kept it for so long because of the bundled phone plan and mobile phone=discount.
Now being in TPG, I get 120GB for $50...problem is sometimes the connection isn't that good, especially when someone uses the phone, crappy adsl. At least now I don't have to worry about checking how much our quota is each month because it never runs out in our family~
