Most people won't even give a series such as Giant Killing a chance because they think "meh, it's just a sports anime."

After having completed all 26 episodes, what I found most surprising is the high level of character development for the ETU players, either on or off the field. The manager was mysterious, and couple that with an underdog team that's been struggling to win in the main division league and you've got yourself a shounen-like series disguised as soccer.

If I had watched this show when it was still on-going, I don't think I'd have survived. Those 3-5 episodes covering the major soccer matches would have been a pain to follow on a weekly basis!

Too true, you see it especially when you compare the first few episodes to the last few. Y'know, Kuroda went from being all tsundere about playing under Tatsumi, yet by the end, he was willing to follow the manager's instructions.

Tsubaki as well, is someone we could all relate to, a player who wilts under pressure, but if he focuses on simple things, then he becomes one of ETUs best players.

Oh, and Tatsumi Takeshi = Footballs version of Chiaki from Nodame Cantabile. The music is awesome in both of these series.

New manga I started reading called "Haru polish" it's about girls and swords and somewhat funny, look forward to future chapters!

Wow how did you recognise it was iaido so quickly? I didnt even know iaido existed until i read this manga (I knew about iai but didnt know about actual competitions where they cut down imaginary foes

It has a great art style judging from the pictures! I might put this on my non-existent manga list haha.

Nah i dont really like the art style (shoujo drawings), but the coloured pages are drawn alot better IMO

haha i recognized iaido from the girl's stance and how she drew her blade. it's a different sword fighting martial art and a cousin to kendo

Rant: where is my second season of Bamboo Blade, Umineko and Nyan Koi?! Especially Nyan Koi since that ended on a cliffhanger! (and so did Umineko mmm...) D:
