pros on buying cosplay are that it's already finished for you, all you have to do is take it out of the package and put it on you! but the cons of buying is that it's really expensive and you might unluckily have the wrong shape for the costume...
pros on making cosplay are that it's cheaper and you feel like you've accomplished something huge! and it's a great feeling. the cons of making it yourself is that it takes up so much time to find patterns etc and may not look as professional
well if i had to choose i'd make my own cosplay, i mean i'm not really that serious about it, it looks more like a hobby to me ^^
