It was probably me because I kept changing my votes between Friday, Wednesday then finally switching it to Monday. Although I was slightly tempted to vote for 09/03/2010 haha.

Hahaha I'm sure we all know that haru that you're temper to click on 9th March hajj you can do so after it's finalized =P

I have a problem and that is the starting point and the activities overall.
Do you guys want each group to have different activities but same last activities or have the first two activity different for each group and afterwards the same ..
I guess I should get to the point... What I'm trying to do is prevent everyone bunch together since we're all starting at the same point.. So I don't want people copying and following other group etc etc..
I guess The idea of the first few activity every group starts off different and afterwards the same is alright but I also want it to be fair.. Same level of difficulty if you know what I mean.. Hmm I need help on this.. Opinions and suggestions people?

I'm going to win the Amazing Race. Yep, you can count me in!

I wouldn't mind helping you with the actual event, as in giving out clues and dishing out detours to any group that is lucky enough to find me. Perhaps you could divide the race into 3 segments, with the first activity based on solving simple problems. As for the second phase, you can force players to take photos of specific buildings and landmarks. The final activity will be the actual race to the finish line, and the team that arrives at the stop pit first will win. But, the photos taken from task 2 will act as proof that the teams have successfully completed the second segment of the race. In other words, no photos, no win! There are plenty of other activities that we can try out, though considering the fact that we barely have enough resources as it is to mimic the stuff from the actual show, it really does restrict the amount of things we can do.

Oh, how about this? Instead of commencing the race at the city, all the teams will meet at a specified train station, get separated into different carriages, and once the train reaches Central, Town Hall or Circular Quay, the race will officially begin! We can provide the teams with a couple of notes, instructions and possibly a map before they aboard the train so they can prepare and figure out the clues before the start of the race. It does seem interesting enough, and I can imagine you guys running around the station like primary school kids high on Pepsi. But in the end, Danny shall decide the fate of the race! I hope it involves a lot of sleeping because that would be awe... zZzz.

T-T I said I wanted to help but it seems like the whole club is going against me, since they want me to participate so I have no choice. I haven't asked my parents yet, but it is highly likely that I will be coming!

hrmmm good idea about dividing into segments.. i guess the problem solving and landmarks is like the scavenger hunt thing like i originally planned..
actually very good idea.. i think i'll do that.. for like 2-3 questions ill start off like that since it scatters people and afterwards the activities for the amazing race..
i forgot to mention about what to bring.. CAMERA hahaha.. even if its phone.. cos some activities/tasks require camera work as proof
hahaha i guess we're not really trying to replicate the exact same style of the amazing race.. just similar event for us to have fun =P

hrmm about meeting at different station.. the thing is.. i plan for us to do the giving event first.. then have lunch.. then head off
but yes.. i think i'll use the idea you said before about the problem solvings to find the landmarks.. ill jumble them on each paper so people arent together and afterwards everyone do the same activities..

-possibly a few maps.. a map from central station to townhall station.. and a map from townhall station to circular quay station.. the map will just show the basic route.. since i dont think you'll be able to read the smaller roads and all but dw~.. the activities so far arent in hidden areas or anything

Haha, ok...hmm activities to do in the city that can be priceless...

In Paddy Markets, search for a shop (give specific number) and write down what they sell and take a photo (if allowed) of a favourite thing they are selling. If it is a clothing store/wig store for example, get someone to try something on! But I think in the wig store, you aren't allowed to take photos T-T (You are just window-shopping, not buying!)

Chinatown, count something there..I was thinking those lion-dragon statues or the flags (dunno if they still have those any more)

In a park area, climb up a hill and roll down (insert number of times). <.<

Umm in the Botanical Gardens, find three of those signs about the type of plant and copy it down!

In QVB, go up to the Tea Room and find out what the most expensive meal combined with tea would cost and the menu they include! (lol it would look awkward~ maybe you can ask them what celebrities/VIP have visited there or how long the Tea Room has been established. Touristy things)

Oh and Dannieh I think you should just have like 4/5 events and start each team at a different event eg. (team 1 @Event1, Team 2 @ E2, etc then when they finish and event they return to you and you give them next event (team 1 to event 2, team 2 to event 3)

the event system is good .. but the thing is that the activities go in order from central to townhall to circular quay.. it makes it convenient for every one

So how does the gift thing work? We bring some random thing that's given out to a random person, or something of that nature?

Theres a seperate thread discussing the "gift thing" Here But basically make something yourself (origami, papercraft, sewing, cooking, etc) and we'll pass it round randomly and another member will get it and you'll get someone elses gift

Oh. Count me out of that, then. If I make something it will be horrible and someone will end up with a horrible gift, and I'll end up with something that looks like it was made by someone over the age of two. Wouldn't be fair to anybody.
