Promotion! UPDATED- for the next club meeting

@Otoha: You make a fair point, but you have to bare in mind that this club was recently established half a year ago. There are tons of factors as to why we have we don't have many loyal members, which could stem from reasons such as the lack of effective promotion and students may have classes or other commitments that coincides with club sessions. It's just too early to make assumptions, and quite frankly, we simply don't know what people want. It all depends on personal preferences, and like you said, some may enjoy anime screenings and others may rather socialise and meet fellow students who pursue the same interests as them. Personally, an anime club should have variety and include a combination of screenings, social discussions, activities and so fourth. With that said, not only does the club need screenings; it needs to have the whole package!

The most important issue we as a club must figure out now is the scheduling of screenings and activities. There's no reason as to why we can't do both and more in each session, provided that club meetings are going to be roughly around 1.5 to 2 hours. Think about it, one episode will take up 25 minutes, which leaves plenty of time for other activities. Heck, we can even screen 2 episodes and still have time for social-related stuff! Unlike last semester (excluding the first few weeks), the club sessions were heavily disorganised and no one had the slightest clue as to what was going on. The key to really making this club a success is to plan, and I can't emphasize that enough! We'll have to do surveys and ask what people would like in a club session and their views on what an anime club really is. Until we have gather enough information to form a basis on what the club should be like, then we will simply continue with screenings and activities. A club is about having fun after all, and what better way to achieve that is to combine every aspect that members love (screenings and activities) most about the club and fuse it altogether into one session!

Argh, I forgot I was gonna put up signs at Bankstown campus. I won't be going back there this week, but if you email posters to me I can print them out and put them up next Monday.

Also I'll be at Parra tomorrow for a lecture, so I'll be there for the meeting/promo stuff.

So, is the club going to be doing any promotion during o-week? UWS is holding a club/society stall day on the 1st and 3rd of March!

Since I'm lazy - I saw the thing about Thursday in O-week but since, if I'm free, I'll be crashing the Mac Uni O-week that day, will we be doing anything on any of the other days? I'll be in Parra in Tuesday. I think my friend might be with me but I can somehow rope her into helping us...hehehe...

(I'm also free on Wednesday. Monday and Friday I'll also be elsewhere.)
