Because there are SMASH! volunteers distributing the tickets and we don't have the confusion of running in and out of the Town Hall trying to meet up with people
to give the tickets. (-.- late notice)

Anyways, spot the table near the back of the hall at upper level with the ParraNOIA banner~

I've received the info pack about our stall ^.^~
Meet-up day before SMASH- Friday August 6 at 9.00am-5.00pm
(This time is for a general set-up of the table and looking at the venue, etc., prep stuff and collecting tickets.
On the actual day, helpers will need to arrive early, between 8.00am-8.30pm before the doors open.
(I guess actual day is for making the table look neat and organised)

Oh and all the club tables are located towards the back of Town Hall..
We're Table Two of the red section! (I wonder if two is a lucky number for us)

The other thread got too long, so now the new stuff is moved to here.
SMASH is fast approaching, and in terms of organisation, T-T we're not even near that.
So here is an outline of things that need to be addressed/ in the process of fixing/finalising.
Remember, main goal for this year's SMASH, research and put our club out there in the public.

Issues Breakdown

Reimbursement- I can sort this out, just have to fill in a small form. No drama.

Funding-

It sounds like the Hive are willing to pay for the tickets and the table, but I know this was going
to come up sooner or later, that the helper tickets are only for UWS students.
So I need 10 people who are going to be helping out with the stall, whether it is minding the table, promoting
our club or organising the merch.
If I can't prove that all the helpers are from UWS, then they won't pay for it. (which really isn't a big issue because
I was only expecting them to pay only the $150 anyway).
Anyone who thinks they are eligible for helping out in SMASH, reply in this thread, or I will contact you via email/msn.

So think about people, you get a free ticket to SMASH, and you can take turns minding the table for an hour, or swap with someone
if you get tired from walking around in the con.

Merch-

Since our focus isn't about profit, we are still selling a few items.
Russ (Otoha) considered having a gacha/lucky dip sort of thing...
My cousin, Anna (Kai), Niki (Kay) and I will be badge designing.
I'll make some plushies as well (dunno what to make).
Danny (dannieh) suggested getting some t-shirts.
My mum can access a laminator and high quality printer at the company she is working at
if we want to make some promo posters and bookmarks. Just have to give it in early before
it starts getting busy again.
Art commissions- who wants to join me?
Any more ideas, feel free to suggest them, we need all the help we can get, seriously! oAo

Badgemaking machine- The Hive has got it in, can someone come to uni with me to take a look at it?
Preferably someone who knows how a badgemaker works, and if it is good quality, etc.

Art commissions- Anna suggested I make gift cards for special occasions?

Hi all, i came up with a fun yet speedy art commission idea!

What we need is a nice handful of lining, bg, colouring artists and a timer.

It's a 10 second, 3min art commission so customers have 10secs to come up with an idea for their art, and the 3 artists do the commission in just 3 mins!

Of course we need to do a test run and put up a couple of good examples for people to see!

And if it's quite popular we might need more groups of artists taking commissions at the same time

and maybe get someone dressed up in cosplay or catgirl to do the timing xD

and so therefore we need artists...

Ok seems liek Kai just volunteered to be our catgirl
10second timer is a good idea, because otherwise they will request massively complex pictures
Also we should specify if people will need to bring a reference picture or not, and limit how many characters in the pic, and whether or not to allow yuri,yaoi, ecchi, etc and whether to colour it in or shade it etc

Ok artists, we need specifications~

Like no sexually explicit pictures/nudity (SMASH code of conduct) and can't do mecha. Will draw furries~

yeah hmm... Reference pics... Maybe allow them to bring one ref pic of the character only and maybe someone who knows a good amount of anime and their memes because customers will enjoy their pics if the artists themselves know where it came from and what it's about

I'm not too sure about the timed comission thing. It might be fun to do as a game with con-goers, but not for paying customers... Whatever we can do in 3 mins probably won't turn out too nice D:
I think it would just be better if we have a limited number of comissions at one time... like maybe a list of 5, then when they're all done you can open comissions again. Maybe only offer chibi or something, so you won't have to take ages and ages on the one picture.

I agree, no way will people pay for pics done in 3 mins @.@, I dunno what my pics would look like, except for drawings where the characters are really familiar~
And we will discuss about shifts later...

Yeah i actually tried it out the other day, after 3mins i ended up only doing half the line art for the test request. 10mins was ok cept it was all too sketchy, so yeah it's back to square one, simple commissions to be done at own pace.
And btw my chibis suck T^T

ah yes and niloy, if you go to events and activities you'll see a thread called badge making/designing and you can dl the template there

anyhow.. i'd love to volunteer and mind the stall~ of course taking turns minding the stall with other members~

as for t-shirts.. i still havnt gotten a reply from a person i know so for now t-shirts will be on delay and not be sold at SMASH..
instead.. since we're low on commissions and artists to draw.. ive decided to collect some arts drawn by other artist.. customise it abit like make a background and use them as bookmarks with of course reference to the artist.
this is okay as ive noticed other stalls done it too with reference.

any suggestions on the size for bookmarks?..
i have known that other clubs book marks are around 3-4cm wide and 10-15cm tall..
i have read above that there was a source of laminating and high quality prints~
if its too much of a hassle for asking high quality prints .. ..
an alternative ive noticed a stall was doing at SMASH was printing the bookmarks via photo prints and then laminating.. so i thought that'll be a great idea since photo prints are cheap and can be 2-3 bookmarks a print..

im thinking of selling the bookmarks 2-3 dollars each.. and if all goes well then we'll do some package like buy 3 for a certain price slightly cheaper than buying usually 3..

speaking of prices~.. ill share this since it'll be helpful~
ive noticed other stalls and clubs sells badges 2 dollars each for small ones and larger ones of $3+

for A3 posters .. prices range from 5-10dollars

..
i dont recommend art commissions done on the spot as its too rushed.. so we'll just sell what resources we have~ however if you do end up drawing/doodling something while bored minding the stall and it is inked and looks well done~.. then we can also sell it..
just no taking commisions from customers
